I really like the black and white - a perfect media choice as it seems to call back to an era (late 19th century I'm thinking) when illustrations of a similar style were commonly seen in books and papers then. On top of that, the composition reminds me of classical art pieces (like reclining Venus etc.)... and then there's the rather ominous clues in the background to make it perfectly unique. Love it.

What I love the most about this, is how it appears at first glance to be a tasteful nude and not much else. However, the normalcy of the image makes it all the more amazing when you pay closer attention to the details, and the man behind the woman.
The title, of course, seals it for me.

This is beautiful, thank you.

I cannot explain why I like this piece of work, it might have something to do with the subject matter.
I think book and your explanation is cool.

If this woman was a victim, shouldn't the background be seedy and desolate? All of his victims were extremely poor prostitutes.

This is extremely well drawn. Love the antique look. Do you add the brownish effect after the drawing in itself is finished?

Thank you. Yes I do sometimes. For this one though, if i recall correctly, I think I drew it, digitally, on a layer above the paper texture :)

It would have looked less modern and more like a period piece if she had pubic hair, as well as some body hair. The lack of any screams modern to me. Aside from that it's an awesome work.

I just picked up this book and upon seeing the face of that particular "gentleman", I instantly could see your creating him to look like Ashbee. Good work! This picture is very lovely, though the older styled one you did for the back of the book actually does seem to capture a more antique style.

Wonderfully done either way!

Thank you. I'm pleased that you recognised him. Sometimes adhering to a detail like that can work against the overall image if no-one gets it, so it's great that you did :)

You've done a great job of capturing the Victorian era, not just in terms of costume and props, but also the style of illustration. It's good to see someone can keep up old traditions if need be.

I like the subject here as well - the juxtaposition of beauty and danger will never grow old!
